MUSICAL CONDUCTOR

Sonia Escobar can currently be heard weekday mornings as the musical conductor on The Maze Jackson Show.  Sonia is also the Program Director of the newly formed media station What’s In It For The Black People Media where The Maze Jackson Show is filmed. Sonia recently left the legendary radio station WVON 1690AM after seven years.  Sonia is a bilingual Chicago native Radio Personality, Educator, Mistress of Ceremonies, and TV Host.  Sonia can be seen hosting for the award-winning Urban Grind TV every week on Comcast Cable 25 and other media outlets.  She was instrumental in the successful launching of Urban Grind Radio on January 19, 2016, which quickly gained momentum and syndication in more markets across the country and abroad. Sonia received her Bachelor’s Degree from Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) in 2011. Upon graduation, she was offered and accepted a position as a corporate copywriter before she decided to follow her passion for broadcasting.  Her broadcasting career began in 2013 when she attended Illinois Media School (IMS).  While attending IMS Sonia held several internships at; WTTW, iheartradio stations WGCI FM, KISS FM, V103 FM, and IMS radio station Windy City Underground. Her hard work paid off upon graduating she had multiple job offers.  Sonia’s commitment to higher education propelled her to begin her doctoral journey in 2019.
